What it is

Enjoy casual games, meet new friends, and improve your skills in a fun, welcoming atmosphere. New players are always welcome, so grab a spot and experience the best of social pickleball with us.

Our sessions are primarily focused on doubles play. Players rotate, so everyone gets to play with different partners and against various opponents. Our game host is there to facilitate smooth rotations and to help match players of similar skill levels, so the games stay balanced and enjoyable.

Everyone, but pick the right session. Social sessions have different levels, from beginners to advanced players, so it's easy to join in, have fun, and enjoy the game. If you're brand new, start with an Introduction to Pickleball session or a beginner coaching program.

Questions

What is an Introduction to Pickleball or Pickleball Coaching?
An introduction to pickleball session gives players the basic rules and gameplay to understand the game. Depending on your ability, you can then join a social that matches your skill level. A beginner coaching program is a structured program run by a pickleball coach, who provides guidance and skill development to get you ready for social play.
Who are Beginner Sessions for?
They're ideal for players who play at a beginner level. These sessions are fun and social. You need to know the basic rules and gameplay before joining one.
Who should join All Skills or Advanced Beginner sessions?
For players who know the basics and want to improve. This level is match-play format, so understanding the rules and scoring is important. The focus is on improving consistency, shot placement, court movement and basic game play fundamentals, all within a social environment. New players should join Beginner Sessions or our coaching programs.
Who should join Intermediate or Advanced sessions?
Experienced players only. Please do not join unless you are at an intermediate or advanced level. If you are unsure, join an Advanced Beginner or All Skills session first and speak to the organisers about the session most suitable to your skill level.
How do I know my level?
If you're unsure about which session to join, speak to our on-site hosts. They can help assess your skill level and guide you to the most suitable session.
How do social pickleball sessions work at Play Pickle?
Our sessions are primarily focused on doubles play. Players rotate, so everyone gets to play with different partners and against various opponents. Our game host facilitates the rotations and matches players of similar skill levels. There's no official break in the session, but take a rest or a drink whenever you need one.
Can I play with a specific friend, or do I need to rotate partners?
You're absolutely welcome to come and play with a friend or group. We do encourage rotating partners, because it improves your game and it's how you meet people. If there's someone you'd like to play with, just let our game host know and we'll make sure you get a few games together.
Do I need my own paddle?
No paddle? No problem! We provide all the essential equipment so you can jump right into the game.
What should I wear?
Athletic clothing that allows freedom of movement: a breathable top, and comfortable shorts or pants. Choose non-marking court shoes with good grip and support. For outdoor play, consider a hat or visor and sunglasses. Layer up in cooler weather.
Are there any age restrictions?
Pickleball welcomes players of all ages. Players under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and need to be able to keep up with the skill level of the session. We also run dedicated kids programs.
What happens to outdoor games in wet weather?
Outdoor games don't proceed in wet weather. This keeps everyone safe and protects the courts. All registered players are notified of the cancellation through the Play Pickle app and our WhatsApp groups.
What is the cancellation and no-show policy?
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Cancel with the required notice and the full amount is credited to your account for future use. No refunds are provided, and for cancellations inside 24 hours no credit is issued. For a no-show, the booking fee is forfeited, and repeated no-shows may mean you can't continue participating.
Is there a waitlist for full sessions?
Yes. If a session is full you can join the waitlist, and you'll be notified if a slot opens up. Slots are filled first-come, first-served, so the waitlist keeps you in the running for last-minute openings.
