Play Pickle has its own app, making it easier than ever to find and book pickleball games, coaching, and leagues across Sydney. Whether you’re just getting started or already hooked on the game, the app helps you stay organised, connect with your local courts, and play more pickleball.
How to Get the Play Pickle App
The Play Pickle App is available across all platforms:
- Apple iOS: Download from the App Store
- Android: Download from Google Play
- Web version: playpickle.podplay.app
You can also search “Play Pickle” in your app store to find it.
How to Create Your Account
Creating your account takes less than a minute. You’ll need to enter:
- Your name
- Mobile number
- A valid payment card (note: Apple Pay and Google Pay are not supported yet)
Booking and Cancellation
Bookings made 6 or more days in advance:
- Card is charged immediately
- Refunds available up to 24 hours before
- Refunds may take up to 10 business days
- Cancelling multiple sessions means multiple refund transactions
Bookings made less than 6 days before:
- Your card will be held, not charged immediately
- Card is charged at the time of the event
- Cancel before 24 hours and the hold is released, which may take a few days
- Cancel within 24 hours and your card is charged
Please double-check your bookings before confirming, as refunds can take 5 to 10 business days to return.
The Waitlist
Joining a waitlist is fair and transparent:
- All waitlisted players are notified at the same time if a spot opens, via the app and email
- Spots are awarded first come, first served
- You are not automatically added, you must confirm and book the spot
In-App Chat
You can message Play Pickle directly through the in-app chat feature.
To activate chat:
- Tap the Account icon
- Go to Preferences
- Toggle “Enable Community Chat” to ON
Once enabled, you’ll get updates from the Play Pickle team, access to announcements, and a way to chat directly within the app.

Prefer chatting on WhatsApp? Join our Play Pickle WhatsApp Community to stay connected with session announcements, program changes, weather updates, and tournament details.
DUPR Integration
You can link your DUPR rating to your Play Pickle account. Some sessions may require a minimum DUPR in future, but most sessions remain open to all.
Countdown Bookings for Popular Sessions
For our most high-demand sessions, bookings open at a specific time with a countdown, like buying event tickets. Be ready when the timer hits zero.
From the August 2025 Changeover
The sections below record the move from OpenSports to the Play Pickle app, which completed in 2025. They are kept for reference. All bookings now happen in the Play Pickle app.
Venues moved across on a rolling basis from mid-August 2025: Pickle Point (Milperra) on 15 August, Play Point (Seven Hills) on 17 August, Camellia Indoor Sports Centre on 28 August, and Perry Park (Alexandria), Bernie Mullane (Kellyville), Fort Street High School (Petersham), Scarborough Park (Ramsgate), Inside the Lines (Richmond), Heffron Park and Tennis World (North Ryde) on 18 August. Robyn Webster Sports Centre (Tempe) moved on 12 August.
OpenSports credit could be transferred to a new Play Pickle account until 31 October 2025. That window has closed and Play Pickle no longer has access to OpenSports.
